Since last 6 August until 1 October 2017, the second edition of Sapporo International Art Festival (SIAF) is held in the Creative City of Media Arts. Triennial festival, incepted in 2014, is a unique example uniting not only contemporary art but also design, music and television. Various forms of expression are integrated into this festival including performances, scenic events and projects including the participation of inhabitants.

The multiple venues where the festival takes place allows experiencing the main features of Sapporo, namely the attributes of the city and the richness of its surrounding nature. The city center not only provides a chance to observe and examine the art and cultural works but also provides opportunity to enjoy the beauty and animation of the city. The inhabitants have the opportunity to become familiar with internationally renowned cultural and artistic expressions; the opportunity for Sapporo to emit its attractiveness in Japan and in the world.
