Sydney, the Australian UNESCO Creative City of Film, held its third annual Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) event on 16 November.
The event featured special presentations from prominent content makers and curators including Emmy award-winner Lynette Wallworth, acclaimed writer and director Eliza McNitt, who made history at the Sundance Film Festival as the world’s first ever acquisition of a VR experience, and Raindance Film Festival’s Virtual Reality Curator, Mária Rakušanová.
In the framework of the 2018 edition of Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), a special event organized by Community BIFF, entitled “Across the Cinema – National Film Activist Forum”, focused on cross-cutting approaches between the film sector and citizenship issues.
On 10 October, UNESCO Creative Cities in Spain held a first meeting at the headquarters of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid, with representatives from five of the seven Spanish member cities taking part. Bristol City of Film & Dakar City of Media Arts Strengthen Links through Important Cultural Exchange
This Autumn, with the support of the British Council, Afrika Eye Festival of Bristol has teamed up with Dakar's film festival Image et Vie to set up an exchange project with two young artists from their respective home cities.
Representatives from Bradford Council and University of Bradford and are in Qingdao, China this week seeking to building stronger relationships in film production, education and tourism.
