“Torino Design of the City”: a Sustainable Development Oriented Week of Design Events
From 10 to 16 October, the City of Torino is organizing, as a Creative City of Design, a series of events and activities in line with Turin World Design Organization 30th General Assembly.
“Torino Design of the City”, one of the most important gatherings in the sector, aims to raise the interest of citizens, professionals – national and international players – on all aspects about design such as sustainable urban mobility and design-thinking in public policies.
Also designated as World Design Capital, Torino is committed to work towards sustainable urban regeneration and development through culture and creativity, notably by reinforcing its core activities through numerous cultural exchange programmes, workshops and seminars with other Creative Cities of Design.
“Torino Design of the City” will count on the large participation of the City’s national and international networks, such as the UCCN, Eurocities, World Design Capital®, GAI, BJCEM, and of the local design community, as well as of private and public sectors institutions.
In order to display the added value of design towards citizens’ well-being, the event will be held in several meaningful areas of the city, in regenerated, multi-purpose and public spaces.
