Denis Matsuev

Denis Matsuev, one of the world’s most renowned pianists, was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in April 2014, in recognition of his commitment to the promotion of musical education and his efforts to support young talent through the New Names Foundation.

Since 2008, he is the President of the New Names Foundation, which features a system for supporting talented young hopefuls in classical and folk music, fine arts, poetry and classical music.

In his capacity as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mr Matsuev supports UNESCO’s work to promote understanding, tolerance among all nations by organizing major music festivals to introduce young musicians from around the world.

In April 2014, he performed with young talents from the New Names Foundation and the Symphonic Orchestra of Tatarstan at UNESCO Headquarters.
