H.R.H. Princess Dana Firas

Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, a fervent and passionate advocate heritage protection, was designated as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in July 2017.

Her nomination comes in recognition of her outstanding commitment to heritage protection and preservation as a pillar of sustainable development and her contribution to responsible tourism.

As President of the Petra National Trust (PNT), she champions the protection of Petra, ancient Nabataean City in Southern Jordan that has been on the World Heritage since 1985. She also raises awareness on the heritage values.

In addition, her work in the office of Her Majesty Queen Noor led her to promote sustainable development, peace, and human rights in Jordan and in the United States.

In 2017, she participated in a High-Level Conference entitled “UNESCO’s Soft Power Today: Fostering Women’s Empowerment and Leadership” which took place at UNESCO Headquarters.
