Mr Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador

Founder and President of FIMALAC, Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in August 2009, in recognition of his commitment to put art at the service of equal opportunities.

Through his dedication for young people with fewer opportunities, Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière supports many UNESCO projects in the fields of culture, education and the fight against discrimination.

Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière is the initiative of the Fondation Culture & Diversité, founded in 2006, which contributes to equal opportunities and social cohesion by providing artistic training to young people from marginalized backgrounds. As a partner of UNESCO, the Fondation Culture & Diversité has set up the Prix de l’audace artistique to encourage access to culture for disadvantaged young people and the international exchange program Travel to learn art crafts, allowing students in art with a modest background to train abroad.

In addition, as President of the Association for the Decorated Cave of Pont d’Arc, known as Grotte Chauvet-Pont d’Arc, he worked on the national and international projection of the painted cave, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.
