Mr. Zurab Tsereteli, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador

Georgian painter, sculptor, architect and decorator Zurab Tsereteli is also President of the Moscow International Foundation for Support to UNESCO, the Russian Academy of the Arts, the UNESCO International Chair of Fine Arts and the International Centre of Design. His work is consistently future-oriented, focusing on the beginnings of new international relations, new ideas and inventions.

Zurab Tsereteli was designated Goodwill Ambassador in 1996. Highly active in the promotion of cultural and artistic projects, he organized a sales exhibition of his work on behalf of UNESCO projects and donated a sculpture, which now figures among the major art works exhibited at UNESCO Headquarters. Greatly concerned about the fate of children, he supports the construction of orphanages and recreational facilities.
