EMERGENCY ALERT

The scope of the devastation from Cyclone Idai grows more shocking every hour as emergency teams arrive in cut-off areas of battered and flooded Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Deadly flash flooding, flying debris and the threat of waterborne disease, including cholera, has put the children of Mozambique at grave risk. 350,000 children in Mozambique alone are said to be in dire need of immediate relief. Your donation can provide lifesaving aid.

The World's Largest Humanitarian Crisis

Children in Yemen are suffering from a brutal war

Five-year-old Mustafa* stands with his arm around his sister, 3-year-old sister Fatima,* in the doorway of their family's temporary shelter in the suburbs of Idleb. The family has been living in Idleb a few months after they were forced to leave their hometown because of the violent clashes and heavy bombardment. The building used to be a coal store, so the children are constantly covered in black coal dust. Since 2012, we've led a large, complex response to the war in Syria, reaching children and families in besieged areas, as well as in refugee camps and host communities. Bdai, Vietnamese mother of two, bends into a stream to fill a water bottle for her children. She lives in a rural highland community suffering the effects of drought. Her crops failed, food is scarce and expensive, and she cannot afford basics like medicine for her children. Save the Children has helped families like hers, by providing rice to feed the family for a month, and trucking in water to the hardest-hit communities. He was recently treated for malaria by a Save the Children medical team. He and his brother are living with an aunt in a small mud house after having to flee violence in their area. Struggling to make ends meet, the family received basic provisions and some financial assistance from Save the Children, and the children are being monitored for malnutrition.
