IIEP-UNESCO online training should be accessible to all
Online training delivered by IIEP-UNESCO should be accessible to everyone. IIEP is currently working on ensuring that its webpages and e-learning platform are also fully accessible, according to the criteria set out by W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative http://webaim.org/standards/wcag/.
We are also committed to aligning ourselves with Moodle’s accessibility practices (e.g., conforming with various accessibility standards) and to making optimal use of innovations and guidelines stemming from Moodle’s Accessibility Collaboration Group http://collaborate.athenpro.org/group/moodle/.
Resources in alternative formats
Among other accessibility features, our e-learning platform includes a plugin that provides options for changing text size and color scheme, provides identical resources in various formats, includes image “alt” tags, video captions and transcripts, and avoids the use of time limited response options to answer quizzes.
Cross browser tested platform
IIEP’s e-learning platform has been cross browser tested. Our platform is compatible with the majority of browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Internet Explorer 11. Older browsers, such as Internet Explorer 10 and older, and Safari 7 and older, may offer reduced functionality.
Access from multiple mobile devices
IIEP’s e-learning platform has a responsive web design allowing participants to access our online courses from a variety of devices such as smart phones, tablets and computers.
