Prof. Dr. Fonseca is the managing director and cofounder of Garimpo de Soluções, a pioneering company working at the intersection of culture, economics, development and cities. She is a creative economy and urban expert and a renowned international speaker and consultant in these fields, having spoken in 29 countries and in 5 languages. As a special advisor on the creative economy for the UN (UNDP/UNCTAD/UNESCO), she joined a number of projects, including as a contributor to the Creative Economy Reports 2008 and 2013. In addition, Prof. Dr. Fonseca has expertise in the fields of marketing, knowledge management and collective intelligence, having led global projects for multinational companies and advisory for governments. Her practical work experience in developing countries has principally been undertaken in Latin America and her conceptual work involves the curatorship of courses and workshops and the edition of books and studies comprising different countries.
