    In May 2007, the Association of African Universities in consultation with the UNAIDS Technical Support Facility for West and Central Africa based in Burkina Faso commissioned a Mid-Term Evaluation of the AAU's three year Programme dubbed African Universities Responding to HIV/AIDS. This project is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency, Sida.   8. Creating space for HIV and AIDS in the curriculum: a rapid assessment of curricular responses in South African higher education institutions

    This report is divided into four chapters. The first chapter maps out the area of theories and models of teaching and HIV/AIDS in HEIs. In so doing it draws attention to this work as a knowledge area in the study of Higher Education, and provides an overview of the methods used to carry out the study. The second chapter is a review of the literature on teaching and HIV/AIDS in Higher Education, focusing in particular on the national and regional literature.
