Description: 
Live Safe, Play Safe is a skills-based health education program that protects children's health by enabling them to avoid HIV infection. Live Safe, Play Safe (LSPS) expands young people's awareness about HIV/AIDS and builds their skills in: - Negotiation; Assertiveness; Coping with peer pressure; Feeling compassion for those with HIV/AIDS. The course begins with basic, accurate information on the risks of unprotected intercourse and ways to avoid these risks. This guide book for teachers lays out seven modules, including how to launch a program (module 1); understanding the facts about HIV/AIDS, including four lessons to use (2); preventing HIV (3) including three lessons); values and vulnerability (4) including two lessons; communicating assertively (5) with three lessons; choosing compassion (6) and a concluding module (7). It also provides evaluation and assessment guidance, games and icebreakers and character drawings in the appendices.
