African World Heritage Day 5 May 2019 Proclaimed during the 38th session of the General Conference of UNESCO, African World Heritage Day (5 May) is an occasion to celebrate the exceptional cultural and natural heritage of the African continent. This day is also an opportunity to raise awareness, particularly among young people, of the wealth, value and need to preserve African heritage.
