22 May 2019 A Chinese UNEVOC Centre combines green skills and e-commerce From 29 April to 10 May, the Zheijiang Technical Institute of Economics (UNEVOC Centre in China) delivered a two-week training programme for TVET Teachers on "Green Skills and the New Economy for Sustainable Development". The programme was implemented in collaboration with Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and built the capacity of teachers coming from 12 Asian countries. (more)

4 April 2019 National Forum on Technical and Vocational Education and Training reform in Mongolia The 2019 National Forum on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform, organized in collaboration with the Mongolia Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, will focus on “Quality TVET Reform for Sustainable Development”. The UNESCO led forum aims to review and discuss the current alignment, gaps and challenges in Mongolia’s TVET sector policy and regulatory framework, strategies and plans and global priorities and framework. 3 April 2019 Mongolia organises a National Forum on its TVET reform The 2019 National Forum on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform took place on 4-5 April in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia). On this occasion, the new UNEVOC Centres in Mongolia, the Technical and Vocational Education Training Assessment Centre (TVET-AC) and the Vocational Education Training Partnership (VETP), were officially launched. 26 March 2019 Women honoured by the UNEVOC Centre in Myanmar The International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrated at the Government Technical Institute (GTI) Insein on 12th March marks the very first event organized by the UNEVOC Centre of the Ministry of Education – Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (hosted at GTI Insein) since the relaunch of its activity on 3rd December. 5 November 2018 Chinese UNEVOC Centres organise a seminar on Higher education On the first of November, the 20th Cross-Strait Applied Higher Education (TVET) Seminar 2018 held in UNEVOC Center at Shenzhen, China, in collaboration with another UNEVOC Centre, the Beijing Union University. 15 October 2018 UNEVOC Centre at Beijing Union University Attended the 2018 Beijing-Humboldt Education Conference The 2018 Beijing-Humboldt Education Conference was held in Beijing on September 15-17. The theme of the conference was “Intelligent Times, Education 2035”. As one of the conference organizer, the Beijing Union University has contributed and actively participated to the sessions. 9 October 2018 Philippines celebrates World Teachers Day The 2018 Tagsanay Awardees and TESDA officials form parts of the over 7,000 teacher-delegates from all over the country gathered in Ormoc City Superdome, Ormoc City for this year’s celebration of the National Teachers’ Day/World Teachers’ Day (NTD/WTD. 20 September 2018 New UNEVOC Centres in Mongolia start collaboration The Vocational Education Training Partnership (VETP), and the Technical and Vocational Education Training Assessment Centre (TVETAC) have recently been designated as UNEVOC Centres in Mongolia. On September 20, 2018, both Centres received a courtesy visit from Mr. Robert Parua, Education Specialist, UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office. (more)

24 August 2018 Beijing Union University conducts Artificial Intelligence training program in Tibet UNEVOC Centre experts of educational information technology gave lectures on Artificial Intelligence to 46 teachers from audio-visual centers and information centers in primary and secondary schools in Duilongdeqing District, Lhasa, Tibet. 12 June 2018 Chinese UNEVOC Centre hosts an International Conference From May 11, 2018 to May 12, 2018, the Belt & Road International Conference on TVET themed at "Mutual Learning and Mutual Benefit" was successfully held at Shenzhen Polytechnic. More than 100 renowned TVET experts from 21 countries and regions and more than 200 experts, scholars and representatives from vocational colleges, enterprises and sectors in China (including 110 presidents of domestic and international colleges) gathered at Shenzhen Polytechnic to have in-depth dialogues on topics like "Belt and Road" construction and TVET. 15 March 2018 Network Consolidation Workshop - UNEVOC Network in Europe As part of UNESCO-UNEVOC's efforts to strengthen the engagement of European UNEVOC Centres in Europe, a European UNEVOC Network Consolidation Workshop was held at the UN Campus in Bonn. This workshop aimed at strengthening cooperation and policy learning in TVET within Europe, and facilitating their future cross-regional collaborations with UNEVOC Centres in Africa and Asia. (more)

21 November 2017 World Makers Gathered at Shenzhen Polytechnic Maker Faire Shenzhen 2017, a very important international event for makers all over the world, had its grand opening at Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) on 10th November, 2017. The event was hosted by Shenzhen Polytechnic and Chaihuo Makers, which is a well-known booming up company for makers in China and a close cooperator of SZPT. (more)

18 September 2017 UNEVOC Centres meet at the China ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum was held in Nanning China on September 10-13, by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Guangxi Province. Education officials and experts attended the conference, including Vice President Bao Hong, Head of UNEVOC Centre at Beijing Union University, and Dr. Rupert Maclean, Coordinator of the UNEVOC Centre at Colelge of the North Atlantic Qatar. Vice President Bao Hong’s participation in the forum has to a great extent enlarged the influence of UNEVOC Centre at Beijing Union University among China-ASEAN countries. (more)

14 August 2017 UNEVOC Centre at Beijing Union University Conducted Teacher Development Program in Tibet China On August 8-10, UNEVOC Centre at Beijing Union University together with enterprises such as Google Inc. jointly conducted a teacher development program on “Educational informatization promoting teaching reform and innovation”. The programme aimed at enhancing teachers’ information technology capacity. (more)

16 July 2017 ASEAN Vocational and Engineering Camp 2017 This camp aims to motivate and inspire future engineers through exposure to design thinking, as well as generating good cooperation between ASEAN countries. The participants will have the chance to practice using Internet of Thing (IoT), facilitating them to solve problems in various contexts. (more)

6 July 2017 E-commerce Training for employment discussed in seminar participated by selected UNEVOC Centres On June 26-28, Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics organized an international seminar on e-commerce training in Hangzhou, China. UNEVOC Centres from Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia were also represented. (more)

31 January 2017 REACH In Vietnam, a local NGO brings disadvantaged young people to employment by training them and connecting them to a Network of over a thousand companies. To ensure a low drop-out rate, REACH counsels and actively supports the trainees throughout. (more)

1 November 2016 5th World Congress on Technical Vocational Education and Training (WoCTVET) 2016 The world congress aims to serve as a platform for discussion, dissemination and sharing of contemporary research and scientific knowledge and information in the field of teacher education for TVET. 5 October 2016 TESDA celebrates World Teachers’ Day The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the Philippines celebrated World Teachers’ Day 2016 by organizing an award ceremony that recognized the contributions and accomplishments of TVET teachers and trainers in the Philippines. 24 June 2016 Symposium on Recognizing Green Skills in Non-formal Learning Settings The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) in Hamburg, Germany, will host an international symposium jointly organized by the Institute and the Education University of Hong Kong (EduHK), a UNEVOC Centre, on recognizing green skills in non-formal learning settings. 9 June 2016 Southeast Asian Conference on Ensuring Greater Impact of TVET for Sustainable Development The conference focused on TVET's role in the region and provided a platform for approximately 200 researchers, lecturers and policy makers to share their knowledge and experiences about trends and needs in the region. One of the main outcomes was the recognition of the need to adopt strategies to transform TVET to respond to emerging labour market trends and industries. (more)

30 March 2016 Collaborative research on return on investment in TVET NCVER, in collaboration with other actors, is currently undertaking a collaborative research project to identify and highlight key issues in the measurement of the return on investment (ROI) in technical and vocational education and training. 3 March 2016 UNEVOC Centre develops TVET Modules for Initial Evaluation As part of the UNESCO–UNEVOC Biennial Work Plan developed by UNEVOC Centres in the Philippines (Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) and Technological Skills and Development Authority (TESDA)), the organizations have collaborated and developed TVET Modules for initial evaluation. 5 February 2016 Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) organises training for ICT as TVET Enabler 23 mentors of Iloilo Science and Technology University underwent training in ICT at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). 23 December 2015 First Global Forum on Green Economy Learning in Paris, France From 16 to 18 December 2015, the 1st Global Forum on Green Economy Learning held in Paris, France, convened approximately 70 policy-makers, development partners, and representatives from education and training institutions, NGOs and business associations to identify opportunities for improving green economy learning. 3 November 2015 Singapore International TVET Conference 2015 Organised by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and the five Polytechnics of Singapore, TVET 2015 is partially-sponsored by Temasek Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organisation. 15 August 2014 UNEVOC Centre Afghanistan continues efforts to establish national research centre for TVET Building on earlier discussions on the establishment of a National Centre for Educational and Vocational Research in Kabul, the UNESCO Office in Afghanistan organized a workshop to further elaborate the mandate, management structure and financing of this centre on 11 and 12 August 2014 in Kabul, Afghanistan.
