Employees of the United Nations joint mission in the Russian Federation express their condolences in regard to the airplane crash in Ethiopia

Employees of the United Nations joint mission in the Russian Federation share the sorrow over the death of the colleagues and other passengers of the flight, crashed in Ethiopia, and express deep and sincere condolences to the families and friends of all the victims. There were 157 people on board of the 737 Ethiopian airlines flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, including 22 staff members from UN organizations – the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) and the World Bank.

In memory of our colleagues and all the victims of the airplane crash, the flag of the Organization was flown at half mast in front of the UN Office in Leontievsky lane.
