On 6 March 2019, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay met with Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, during her first official visit to Russia. The Director General also visited the Russian Academy of Arts during her visit, where she met with the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli, who presented Mrs. Audrey Azoulay with a certificate of the Honored Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Afterwards, the Director General met with Ministers, the members of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and the Director of UNESCO IITE. The program of her visit also included a trip to Tatarstan, where the monuments included in UNESCO World Heritage List are located.
