Zubair Shahid
Programme Assistant, Knowledge Development and Regional Focal Point Arab States
Zubair has been associated with UNESCO-UNEVOC since June 2015 with a functional focus on Monitoring and Evaluation. Prior to this, Zubair has a five year professional experience in the international development policy sector, which includes research and professional engagements with multilateral institutions including the World Bank, United Nations and the Global Development Network (GDN). In addition, he has also taught at the Joint European Masters in Comparative Local Development organized under EU sponsored consortium of University of Trento, Corvinus University Budapest, University of Regensburg, and the University of Ljubljana. His professional and research experiences have focused on South and South East Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
His academic background includes a PhD in Local Development and Global Dynamics, with a research focus on governance, state reform and political economy of development. Prior to this, he obtained a Masters degree in Public Policy and an undergraduate degree in Finance and Investment.
