The Tonga Maritime Polytechnical Institute (TMPI) is the approved provider of maritime technical and vocational education and training in Tonga. Training programmes are offered to suit the needs of both domestic and international employers and seafarers

Customers are the focus of TMPI activities and the provision of quality service to those customers is paramount.
Only appropriately trained, qualified and motivated personnel are employed at TMPI to deliver quality services and the level of services provided to customers will always be clearly defined.
The Institute strives to maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the maritime industry, partner organisations and all stakeholders.
Training programs for seafarers seeking to acquire knowledge, develop skills and achieve competence as ratings and deck and engineer officers in the domestic and international shipping industry.

High School students participated in a two-day competition.
