The National Training Agency is the central hub for TVET activities in Jamaica. The agency oversees the training of over 80,000 workers in 14 economic sectors annually and is concerned with improving the image of TVET across the country, is active in the... <show more> The National Training Agency is the central hub for TVET activities in Jamaica. The agency oversees the training of over 80,000 workers in 14 economic sectors annually and is concerned with improving the image of TVET across the country, is active in the preparation and certification of the Jamaican workforce and is responsible for the coordination, funding and development of TVET institutions’ programmes to contribute to the development of skilled labour. The HEART/NTA provides technical assistance support to Caribbean countries in the establishment of their NTAs and the CVQs.
The HEART Trust/NTA works in close collaboration with industry groups to ensure relevant training programmes are developed and implemented to facilitate articulation in the national training system.

It was established in 1982 and is driven by the mission which articulates its commitment 'to the systematic design, development and delivery of an integrated, flexible and responsive Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, enabling a productive workforce for national priorities and global competitiveness.'

| 13 December 2013HEART Trust (UNEVOC Centre Jamaica) - TVET SymposiumThe HEART Trust held a TVET Symposium on October 31, 2013 under the theme 'Advancing Economic Development through TVET.' Jamaica's Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Anthony Hylton, spoke about the plans for the logistics hub in Jamaica. The keynote speaker was Mr. Robert Ready, Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica.
