Intangible Cultural Heritage: UNESCO Asia-Pacific In Graphic Detail #7

Intangible Cultural Heritage: UNESCO Asia-Pacific In Graphic Detail #7

Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is all around us, with the 2003 Convention’s Representative List meant to symbolize and support cultural practices passed down from generation to generation. Yet in many cases, such heritage is at risk because of the loss of knowledge, unsustainable tourism, globalization and other threats. Coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development on 27 – 29 March, UNESCO Bangkok seeks to raise awareness about the amazing variety of intangible heritage, with the latest in a series of infographics.

These infographics convey core concepts of UNESCO’s work in areas that profoundly affect the lives of people throughout the region.

We encourage everyone to share widely and utilise these resources in their own projects and campaigns.
