UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) participates at the Moscow International Education Fair (MIEF) on an annual basis. This year at the exhibition area of the MIEF (held on April 10-13) UNESCO IITE hosted a booth to showcase publications and materials on various issues regarding the use of information and communication technologies in education.
UNESCO IITE also seized the opportunity to make an official launch presentation of the Global Education Monitoring Report 2019 (GEM Report), which took place on April 10, 2019 at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). On April 11, 2019 UNESCO IITE organized a panel discussion on the role of digital technologies in shaping health literacy among young people. The discussion was attended by representatives of leading Russian online media and experts from UNESCO IITE. The discussion was moderated by Maksim Kazarnovsky, Head of the Directorate of the Moscow International Education Fair.
MIEF is a high-profile educational event, an open forum and the largest exhibition of new educational technologies and intelligent and infrastructure solutions. For many years the Fair serves as a platform for open dialogue between educational and expert communities, state institutions and business on the current and future issues of the education system. At the same time MIEF also draws the attention of Russian and foreign business to get it involved in developing education system in Russia, in particular through public-private partnerships.
The MIEF Programme consists of various clusters covering every level and segment of Russian education system, from preschool education and secondary professional education to higher education. Alongside with lectures, master classes, and events, the Fair’s programme offers wide range of opportunities for professional communication and sharing experience between educators, business representatives, producers of educational products, and state stakeholders in charge of education projects through a variety of formats: exhibition, ministerial forum, panel discussions, workshops, learning zone, etc.
