Moscow International Education Fair 2015

IITO UNESCO took part in the Moscow International Education Fair (MIEF-2015), held in the Expocenter at Krasnaya Presnya (Moscow, Russia) from 15 to18 April 2015, as an official partner of the event. The main topic of the event, dedicated to topical issues in the field of modern education and the promotion of innovative educational technologies, personal and professional development of individuals, was «New Architecture of Education». MIEF-2015 brought together over 20 000 people including representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, senior officials of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and specialists from more than 200 educational, commercial and non-commercial organizations of Moscow, 45 regions of Russia and 18 foreign countries as well as teachers, students, pupils and their parents. The MIEF-2015 business program included 204 events, that became a platform for discussion of the draft education strategy developed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, government programs for promotion of the Russian language, best independent projects, issues of further education, support of children’s art schools and educational institutions training cultural specialists, the main advantages of developing in Russia the competitiveness of the education system, as well as the need to improve and promote not only higher, but also basic education in Russia. More than 2000 exponents were working at the exhibition held within the framework of MIEF-2015. UNESCO IITE presented to participants information on its main activities as well as recently published training and research materials on topical issues in the field of ICTs in education developed by IITE’s specialists.

The Moscow International Education Fair became “an important phase in the architecture of the education”, as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets noted.
