Under the UNESCO-HNA project for supporting girls’ and women’s education, IICBA recently developed a Gender Responsive Education (GRE) toolkit to equip education professionals in Ghana and Ethiopia. 

A training workshop on utilization of the toolkit was conducted for education professionals in Accra, Ghana from 23 to 27 April 2018. The objective of training was to enable participants understand dimensions of gender analysis framework, identify responsibilities of various educational experts to mainstream gender in education provisions, analyze teaching and learning and teacher education policy/programs for gender responsiveness, and finally to design action plans to deliver gender responsive education according to their professional responsibilities. Participants greatly appreciated the content and approach of the toolkit and looked forward to use the tools in their day to day professional practices.
