Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) is a higher TVET institution invested by the Shenzhen municipal government for full-time TVET education. It focuses mainly on cultivation of applied professional talents with high standards and qualifications for the front line of production, construction, management and services.
SZPT currently employs 1,165 full time teachers, including 185 professors, 604 associate professors, 111 and 11 master and doctor degree student tutors respectively. More than 82% of them are "dual-skilled” teachers. In addition, 1,444 part time teachers from various lines are working together with them for over 24,000 full-time and 6,900 part-time students, including 485 master and 15 phd students. In over 20 years of time, SZPT has cultivated over 70 thousand fulltime graduates. Their employment rate has been over 96% in the past decade.
SZPT now has five campuses, occupying a total area of 236 hectares with 588.4 thousand square metre construction areas for its 17 schools. Among the construction areas, 100 thousand square metres are of students’ practicing workshops with over 6.41 million teaching and practicing facilities, instruments and equipments. Its libraries store over 2.2 million paper books, 1.17 million electric books, 1711 journals and magazines and 32 data banks in either Chinese or English. Its laboratory complexes, state-of-the-art facilities, 28 training laboratories with 116 branch laboratories and 330 off-campus practice bases provide many opportunities for the students to learn and practice their skills.
SZPT is now a National Exemplar Polytechnic titled by the Ministry of Education, and has been recognized nationwide as one of the pioneering polytechnics in China.
SZPT also promotes exchange and cooperation at the international level. Seven foreign languages, including English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish, are taught on our campus. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with nearly 106 universities and educational organizations outside of mainland China. These include universities and academic institutes in Britain, Germany, France, Australia, the United States, Japan, South Korea and so on.
