Visit of UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Mr Qian Tang to Moscow in November 2017

On 20 November, Mr Qian Tang, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, arrived in Moscow on a 3-day official visit. Mr Tang held meetings with the Russian National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and staff of UNESCO IITE. During his stay, Mr Tang also visited Moscow School 2030.

At the meetings with Russian authorities, Mr Tang expressed his appreciation for the generous contribution of the Russian Federation to UNESCO IITE. In 2017, the Russian Federation as the host country of UNESCO IITE has doubled its contribution to the Institute. Mr Tang also called on continued joint effort from UNESCO and the Russian Federation to support the Institute’s programme activities and international/national specialists.

At UNESCO IITE, Director Mr Tao Zhan and IITE staff briefed Mr Tang on recent progresses of the institute’s activities and its new Medium-Term Strategy for 2018-2021. Mr Tang encouraged IITE staff to work creatively and as a team in order to make the Institute a center of expertise in the field of ICT in education.
