This publication provides an analysis of and recommendations on literacy learning for indigenous youth and adults in multicultural and multilingual contexts. Report of the second regional meeting on LIFE in Africa in January 2008, which was organised by the UNESCO Field Office in Maputo, the Regional Bureau of Education in Dakar (BREDA) and UIL. Sixteen African LIFE countries were present and the meeting was broadened by the participation of Brazil, Haiti and Sudan.
