La UNESCO fomenta la cooperación con los municipios, las autoridades locales y las asociaciones de ciudades, que desempeñan una función cada vez más importante en lo que se refiere al desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades.
Nuestro objetivo es la asociación de ciudades entre ellas y con otros interlocutores, por medio de patrocinios, hermanamientos o redes.
