    • Ara Abramian
    Ara Abramian, presidente del Congreso Mundial Armenio es un eminente representante de la sociedad civil de la Federación de Rusia. Fue nombrado Embajador de Buena Voluntad para el Diálogo entre las Civilizaciones el 15 de julio de 2003 como reconocimiento a su incansable apoyo a proyectos de desarrollo del diálogo social en la Federación de Rusia.

    Desde su nombramiento, Ara Abramian ha aportado su contribución a la celebración del tricentenario de la fundación de la ciudad de San Petersburgo patrocinado por la UNESCO en mayo y junio de 2003. También apoyó al “Foro Regional sobre el Diálogo entre las Civilizaciones”, que se celebró en Ohrid, ex República Yugoslava de Macedonia, en agosto del mismo año.

    Abramian, muy conocido por sus actividades culturales y caritativas, ha recibido varios premios, entre ellos la Medalla de Amistad y la Medalla por la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos. También fue elegido Hombre del Año en 2001 y en 2003 por los medios de comunicación rusos.

    Ara Abramian organizes the festival “Flowers of the World”
    Mr Ara Abramian, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, organized the festival “Flowers of the World”, which was held from 31 August to 2 September 2006 in Moscow, under the patronage of UNESCO. The festival brought together more than 200 florists from different regions of the Russian Federation, CIS States and European countries, for the purpose of promoting peace and understanding through the common cultural denominator of flowers.
