    Cristina Owen-Jones es defensora de los niños que sufren de pobreza, malnutrición, enfermedades y actos de violencia. Desde 2002, trabaja en los programas de la UNESCO de “Educación para los niños en situación de necesidad” en particular apoyando a los niños desfavorecidos del centro Don Bosco, en Argentina.
    Sus esfuerzos partidarios han atraído una ola de simpatía y solidaridad.
    Como resultado de su cooperación con la UNESCO, el centro Don Bosco recibió ayuda financiera para ayudar a mejorar el futuro de los niños en dificultad.
    Su compromiso se extiende a otras causas, como la lucha contra el VIH / SIDA. Ha apoyado a la UNESCO llamando la atención sobre el carácter imprescindible de la educación en el combate contra la epidemia y luchando por la concienciación social respecto a los efectos devastadores de la enfermedad.
