  • Miguel Ángel Estrella
    En 1980, Miguel Ángel Estrella fue nombrado Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO. Prestigioso pianista clásico argentino, Estrella luchó toda su vida por el acceso a la música de las clases sociales más desfavorecidas. Para realizar este proyecto creó la fundación “Música Esperanza” cuyos objetivos son facilitar el acceso a la música, crear lazos entre las diferentes comunidades y defender la dignidad humana.

    El compromiso constante de Miguel Ángel Estrella permitió recaudar fondos que han sido muy útiles, particularmente a las víctimas de Chernobyl, a quienes está dedicado uno de los programas de la UNESCO. Estrella es el creador de la “Orquesta de la Paz” compuesta por jóvenes músicos árabes e israelíes que ha dado conciertos en Francia y Luxemburgo promoviendo los ideales y objetivos de la UNESCO. En 2000, Miguel Angel Estrella fue galardonado con el Premio Nansen, premio de las Naciones Unidas para las Tres Américas.

    Mr Miguel Angel Estrella, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, gave a piano concert on 20 December 2006 at the Organization’s Headquarters to commemorate the end of the year 2006, which marked the 60th anniversary of UNESCO. On this occasion and to celebrate Human Rights Day (10 December), His Excellency Mr Eric Calcagno, Ambassador of Argentina in France, Ms Alicia Bonet-Krueger, President of the “Collectif pour la mémoire”, and Mr Miguel Angel Estrella thanked various personalities for their solidarity with the Argentinean people during the military dictatorship.
