    • Su Alteza Real la Princesa Firyal
    S.A.R. la Princesa Firyal de Jordania fue nombrada Embajadora de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO en 1992. Licenciada en Historia de América por la Universidad de Columbia y mecenas internacional de las artes, S.A.R. la Princesa Firyal figura en la lista de honores de la universidad de Harvard y forma parte del Consejo del Museo de Artes Decorativas de París. Defensora tenaz de las causas humanitarias, la princesa Fyrial ha participado en actos caritativos en todo el mundo. Asimismo, forma parte del Consejo del Comité Internacional de Rescate, que se ocupa de ayudar a los refugiados y los desplazados y es Directora de la Asociación de las Naciones Unidas

    Su fundación “Hope” (Esperanza), creada en colaboración con la UNESCO, apoya proyectos a favor de los niños que viven en la calle y de los que trabajan. Denuncia la situación marginal de la mujer en las zonas rurales y defiende los derechos de la mujer por todo el mundo. S.A.R. Firyal, que ha representado a la UNESCO en diversas conferencias internacionales, promueve los derechos de la familia y del niño y la protección del patrimonio cultural mundial. También apoya campañas de la UNESCO de prevención contra el VIH / SIDA y utiliza su estatus para fomentar el trabajo y los ideales de la UNESCO.

Princess Firyal co-chaired the annual Global Leadership Award dinner, which was organized by the United Nations Association of the USA, presided by Ambassador William H. Luers, and the Business Council for the United Nations on 30 September 2004. More than 800 people attended the fundraising dinner at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Distinguished guests of the evening's ceremonies included UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, famous actor Michael Douglas, TV talk-show host Oprah Winfrey and David Rockefeller. Princess Firyal of Jordan, Ms Marianna Vardinoyannis and Wole Soyinka, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors, were nominated as Patrons for the World Heritage International Congress 2002: “Shared Legacy and Common Resposibility” marking the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the World Heritage Convention.
