  • Jean Michel Jarre
    Jean-Michel Jarre fue nombrado Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO para la tolerancia y la juventud en 1993. Pionero y estrella reconocida de la música electro-acústica, sus macroconciertos, que combinan alta tecnología sonora, láser y espectáculos pirotécnicos, congregan a decenas de miles de espectadores. Jarre ha utilizado algunos de sus conciertos internacionales como plataformas de sensibilización a la misión de la UNESCO y contribuido así a promover por ejemplo la importancia de la preservación del Patrimonio Mundial.

    Entre los momentos más memorables de su labor como Embajador de Buena Voluntad figuran el Concierto para la Tolerancia que ofreció al pie de la Torre Eiffel, en París, coincidiendo con el cincuentenario de la UNESCO. Para esa ocasión compuso además un tema sobre la tolerancia. Más recientemente, dio también un recital, el Concierto del Milenio, ante las pirámides de Egipto. Infatigable promotor de los derechos y de la educación de la juventud, es un auténtico mensajero de la tolerancia, del pluralismo cultural y del respeto para todos los jóvenes del mundo. En colaboración con otra Embajadora de Buena Voluntad, la mecenas griega Marianna Vardinoyannis, recientemente dio dos conciertos caritativos al pie de la Acrópolis de Atenas e intervino, junto al Director General de la Organización, en la apertura del Forum UNESCO “Jóvenes por la eliminación de la pobreza”, celebrado en 2001.
