  • Su Alteza Real la Gran Duquesa María Teresa de Luxemburgo
    En 1997, S.A.R. la Gran Duquesa María Teresa de Luxemburgo fue nombrada Embajadora de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO para la educación de las mujeres y niñas en todo el mundo. Su determinada lucha por los derechos de la mujer la ha llevado a defender proyectos de mejora de la calidad de vida de las mujeres y niños, particularmente mediante el sistema de los microcréditos.

    Visitó varios proyectos de la UNESCO en Bangladesh, Nepal, Malí, Tailandia, Lao y Bosnia y Herzegovina. Madre de cinco hijos, S. A. R. la Gran Duquesa se preocupa especialmente por el destino de los niños, por lo que apoyó generosamente varios proyectos de ayuda a los chicos de la calle y de lucha contra la prostitución infantil.

    Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, has strongly supported the cross-cutting theme project entitled “Breaking the poverty cycle of women: Empowering adolescent girls to become agents of social transformation” in South Asia, since it was launched in 2002. With the dona tion provided by the “Fondation du Grand-Duc Henri et de la Grande-Duchesse Maria Teresa”, activities under the fi nal phase of the project were reinforced and consolidated in 2006.
