    Vietnamita nacionalizada canadiense, Kim Phuc es defensora de la paz y símbolo vivo de los sufrimientos infligidos a víctimas inocentes de las guerras.
    Su imagen corriendo quemada por las bombas de napalm durante la guerra de Viet Nam conmovió al mundo entero y contribuyó a crear una conciencia internaciomal de los horrores de la guerra. Desde entonces, Kim Phuc es portadora de un mensaje de perdón, reconciliación y tolerancia. Aunque perdonó, Kim Phuc Phan Thi no ha olvidado. Durante una ceremonia conmemorativa de la guerra de Vietnam, perdonó públicamente a los instigadores del bombardeo con napalm, responsables de tantos sufrimientos. Desde entonces ha dedicado su vida a la promoción de la paz y fundó, con este objetivo, la “Fundación Kim International” que se ocupa de los niños, víctimas inocentes de las guerras, aportándoles tratamiento médico y psicológico para ayudarlos a superar sus traumas.
