Professor Francis Hult, an educational linguist from Lund University (Sweden) visited UIL from 3 to 15 December as part of his sabbatical activities. UIL thanks him for taking the initiative to come to UIL and for his kind collaboration.
Professor Hult provided input on how the decisive role of language in adult learning and education policy and practice could be further highlighted in UNESCO’s 1976 Recommendation on the Development of Adult Education, which is currently under revision.
In 2015, UIL and Professor Hult will cooperate in the areas of research and sharing of good practices on youth and adult literacy in multilingual contexts.
