Town Hall Held for UNESCO Staff to Move the Strategic Transformation Process Forward

03 December 2018

The Town Hall Meeting on UNESCO’s Strategic Transformation held for staff took place on Monday, 3 December 2018.

All staff members were invited to take an initial look at the work done over the past six months in regard to Strategic Transformation.

Under the authority of the DDG, the leaders of the four Thematic Working Groups presented their respective work to colleagues from Headquarters in Room II and also to colleagues in field offices via a live-stream of the event, discussing objectives, expected results and the progress report of the Strategic Transformation

The meeting was webcast for Colleagues in the Field. It was an occasion to engage in a dialogue on several aspects of the Strategic Transformation, in order to mobilize all UNESCO staff to move this process forward.

The questions asked by staff to the DDG and to the Group leaders focused mainly on what the Strategic Transformation means for individual staff members and how to engage in the process, the impact of the Transformation on the operations of the Organization, the impact of UN reform on UNESCO’s presence in the field.

In addition to this Town Hall meeting, the Support Unit for Strategic Transformation held a series of meetings with UNESCO staff unions, Field offices, young professionals, as well as an informational meeting with Member States during November 2018.
