The green generation is the key player of Cinemambiente 2019

Cinemambiente Film Festival founded in Turin (Italy), promotes outstanding films and documentaries dedicated to environmental issues, since 1998. The festival event has become a key date on the international calendar of environmental film festivals, with more than 100 films presented each year.

WWAP has been invited to be part of the Jury  in the 22nd edition of the Festival (31 May-5 June) to select the best Italian documentaries.The 5th of June, last day of the Festival and World Environment Day was dedicated to the awards celebration where the Italian Minister of the Environment, Land and Sea, Mr. Sergio Costa and the Mayor of Turin, Ms. Chiara Appendino awarded the winners.

The award for the best Italian documentary has been given to the movie “Il sorriso del gatto” produced by Mario Brenta e Karine De Villers (Italy 2018, 60’)  for being ”A sharp look at the complexity of the present and at the contradiction of the urban life, through a poetic use of the camera and the cinema language”.

A special mention went also to the movie “Controcorrente” produced by Claudia Carotenuto and Daniele Giustozzi (Italy 2019, 90’) since “The film transforms a journey into a mission to inform the young generations on the environmental crucial topics of our era”.
