Before applying for a General Service post, assess your eligibility: have you got the right job profile?

To guide you in this process, the required qualifications are listed below:

Education: good general education and vocational training for performing the duties of the post.

Note: applicants for secretarial posts must have the ability to use office automation tools.

Languages: an excellent knowledge of either French or English (the two working languages) and, at Headquarters, a good knowledge of the other language. A knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Spanish or Russian is an additional asset or in some cases, may be necessary.

Attitude: awareness of the multiple facets of a multicultural world and a commitment to international public service are essential.

Experience: as appropriate, depending on the nature and level of the post.

Place of residence: resident in the country of the duty station.
