CAMPUS UNESCO « Africa » took place on May 27th, 2019 from 10:00 to 12:00 at UNESCO Headquarters. 125 avenue de Suffren, 75007 Paris. Room IV.
Speakers:
Klara Boyer-Rossol – Doctor in Africa’s history talked about two interesting topics : the french school curricula "Regards d'Afrique" in which she contributed and the history of the slave trade in Africa.
Amzat Boukari-Yabara – Doctor in Africa’s history and civilization, author of "Africa Unite! Une histoire du panafricanisme" adressed the topic of Pan-Africanism and globalization.
Willy Jackson - consultant and doctor in political sciences and international relations talked about the position of Africa in the global governance.
Sasha Rubel – UNESCO expert for the Communication and Information sector who lived several years in Africa, talked about the actions of UNESCO regarding Africa which is a top priority.
ABOUT CAMPUS UNESCO: To put the expertise of UNESCO teams and partners at the service of the youth for a better understanding of major contemporary issues. It is an opportunity for young people to exchange ideas on various topics alongside experts of the issues at hand. The experts are from UNESCO and civil society. Since 2014, 75 CAMPUSES raised awareness to over 23 000 young people on major issues such as sports and citizenship, peace, sustainable development, human rights, girls’ education, genocides, freedom of expression, and cultural heritage.
