Element Shashmaqom music (Tajikistan - Uzbekistan)
Inscribed in 2008 (3.COM) on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (originally proclaimed in 2003)
Title EN: Meaning “six maqoms,” the Shashmaqom constitutes a fusion of vocal and instrumental music, melodic and rhythmic idioms and poetry. Shashmaqom masters provide classes to trainees and amateurs at Tashkent Conservatory, contributing to the revitalization of this musical tradition.
Title FR: Le Shashmaqom, littéralement « six maqoms », mêle musiques vocale et instrumentale, langages mélodiques et rythmiques, et poésie. Les maîtres du Shashmaqom proposent, au conservatoire de Tachkent, des cours pour apprentis et amateurs afin de faire revivre cette tradition musicale.
