This Symposium is the first meeting of UNESCO Chairs explicitly addressing anticipation and futures literacy. The Chairs' activities and their relevance for achieving UNESCO's agenda will be discussed.

UNESCO has already established 9 UNESCO Chairs in Anticipatory Systems, Futures Studies and Futures Literacy and over 20 more applications are being processed for an inauguration by 2022.

The network of UNESCO Chairs will pave the way towards establishing anticipation and future literacy as a normal component of education and training for everyone.

A series of universities coming from 14 different countries and 5 continents has responded positively to the Italian UNESCO Chair in Anticipatory Systems, based at the University of Trento, where they will all gather on 19-21 June 2019.
