The documentation and information centre

The Documentation and Information Centre was set up with the establishment of the UNESCO Office in Kathmandu in July 1998. It is located within the Office premises at Sanepa, Lalitpur, Nepal. 

The Centre provides information and documentation support to respond to information needs in the field of UNESCO’s competencies viz. education, sciences, culture, communication and information. It plays an important role in disseminating information about UNESCO’s programme activities and publications. It also helps resource centres and libraries in Nepal to enrich their collection by providing them with UNESCO publications.

Collection

The collection includes 4,000 publications in UNESCO's fields of competence, specially UNESCO publications (monographs, periodicals and audio-visual materials) and other reference materials. In addition, e-resources in UNESCO fields of competence (bibliographc and full text databases) are available.

Operating Hours

The Centre is open to the visitors from Monday to Friday, 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm except on UN holidays.
