UNESCO celebration event on the occasion of World Radio Day 2019

07 February 2019

On World Radio Day, 13th February 2019, UNESCO invites you to attend the celebration event held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, 125 Avenue de Suffren, from 11am to 4pm. Registration is mandatory and can be done here.

This World Radio Day 2019 celebration event is open to the public, and will feature live radio broadcasts and 10 “Speed Workshops”. Radio stations will broadcast live from the UNESCO Headquarters. In particular, there will be Monte Carlo Doualiya, Radio Campus, Radio France Internationale (RFI) and Radio UNESCO. The “Speed Workshops” will also offer all the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in radio production. At each workshop, in ten minutes, visitors will be guided by radio professionals to gain useful skills related to audio production and management.  The program for workshops can be found here.

Visit UNESCO on the 13th February 2019 to experience behind-the-scenes of radio and online audio production, as we celebrate the impact of radio in the pursuit of a more peaceful and tolerant world!

Radio can bring the different sectors of society closer together, particularly through its ability to stimulate public debate, foster dialogue and promote civic participation.
