Eighteen years ago, our nation was attacked by al-Qaeda. Thousands were killed, and now we honor their memory. Let us come together and unite around the common spirit of love for our country and for each other ... to defend our nation, our freedom, and our future.

As a journalist and for the record: planes didn’t take aim...evil did. Evil exists. We beat evil as one. We stand together as one. We will not water down history. We will remember and we will learn from it, or we’ve failed those lost.

Following yesterday's 9/11 remembrance ceremony, the Cadet Wing was entrusted with a ceremonial baton and firefighter's helmet — symbolizing our promise to never forget the events of 9/11. Both items were continuously run around the Terrazzo for 18 hours.

A somber day of remembrance ends on a high note, hanging with my good friend rock legend . Was so touching when he paid tribute to the fallen. He became a US citizen shortly after 9/11. His show was amazing.

It has been 18 years since the devastating attacks on September 11, 2001 and we will never forget the sacrifice our first responders and families made on this day. We will always remember those who lost their lives and those still struggling with 9/11 illnesses.
