Auschwitz Memorial
9 June 1941 | Among 48 Poles deported by the Germans to from Montelupich prison in Cracow was a pilot Kazimierz Chałupnik (pic: on the left - with his brother Wiktor). Camp no. 17183. He was involved in resistance activity & transferred to Sachsenhausen. He survived.

It's amazing that you are able to locate pictures and put a face to the names of the dead. Both of my parents were survivors of genocide and the last of their families. There are no pictures of grandparents, aunts and uncles I never knew.
