MARIA SCHENKER was born in Krakow, Poland, on March 20, 1913. Very little is known about her life before she was forced into captivity other than the facts that she was Jewish, made her living as an office clerk and, according to some records, was a pianist.

We are saddened that the world has lost another Mengele Twin. Stephanie (Heilbrunn) Heller and her sister Annetta (Heilbrunn) Able were born in Yugoslavia and raised in Prague. Stephanie was sent to Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, and Ravensbruck. Our heart goes out to the her family.

September 13 1941 Jews in the Tauragē ghetto were told they were to be moved to a location with better conditions... 3 days later they were loaded on to trucks and shot in to mass graves at a nearby forest. Learn about this Jewish community here

On 1 March 1943 Rapportführer Gerhard Palitzsch took at least 82 boys aged 13 to 17 from Birkenau to the main camp (Poles, Jews, and Russians). They were placed in a room in Block 20 and, in the evening, were all killed with phenol injections by SS-Unterscharführer Scherpe.

He died on 1 March 1943. His death certificate attributes the cause of death to a perinephric abscess, however, this information was, almost always, false. Iwan was actually murdered with a phenol injection into his heart.

IWAN REBAŁKA was born on February 6, 1925, to Nastasja and, his father, Maksym Rybałka. According to documents recovered from KL Auschwitz, Iwan belonged to the Greek Orthodox Church and was a milkman by trade when he was arrested in Bielowody.

Lodz, occupied Poland, deported women and children with their belongings, 1942. The "Gehsperre" was the deportation aktion that took place in the Lodz ghetto between 05-12/09/1942. Over 15,000 Jews, mostly children, elderly and the infirm were sent to their death in Chelmno.

15 August 1928 | A Polish girl Czesława Kwoka was born. She was expelled by the Germans from Zamość Region during creating the "living space" in the east. Registered in on 13 December 1942 (no. 26947). She was killed with a phenol heart injection on 12 March 1943.
