Today in 1961 the Battle of Jadotville started. 155 soldiers from Ireland's Western Command attacked by 3,000 mercenaries loyal to Katangese President Moise Tshome. It lasted 5 days, Over 300 mercenaries killed, Cmdt. Pat Quinlan's A Coy suffered no losses.
