Election Commission is of the view that they won't be in any haste as far as the counting of VVPAT slips is concerned . In an exclusive interview to Rajya Sabha TV senior deputy election commissioner Umesh Sinha has said that trends will come by 23rd May afternoon but exact numbers of which party wins how many votes could go on till May 24 th. Defending the decision of the election commission to end the campaigning in West Bengal 29 hours early , Sinha said that this was an extraordinary situation where the decision had to be excersised inorder to conduct free and fair polling , given the violence in the state between BJP and Trinamool workers.
