Overcoming Divides: Achieving the SDGs in Africa

On the occasion of International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) on the 28th of September 2017, UNESCO supported the building inclusive and open knowledge societies by celebrating the IDUAI 2017 under the theme “Overcoming Divides and Achieving the SDGs”. This high-level celebration event took place in Balaclava, Mauritius, on the 28th September alongside three days of workshops and technical sessions on the 27th, 29th and 30th around the following themes: InfoEthics, Foss policy, Open Access, OER Congress, Access to Space technology, Knowledge and innovation strategies and YouthMobile.

The main event on 28th September in InterContinental Hotel, was focussed on Universal Access to Information and Knowledge, International Cooperation on InfoEthics Achieving SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Good Institutions, and International Cooperation on Education and Digital Inclusion to “Leave no one behind”.

The UNESCO IDUAI event was part of E-learning Africa summit that was held at the same location.
