The third International Youth Forum (IYF3) and Changsha Media Arts Festival were held simultaneously from 31 March to 3 April 2019. In light of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network’s objectives, the events included a high-level forum as well as parallel sessions with the participation of representatives from 13 Creative Cities.
To support China’s pledge to alleviate national poverty by 2020, the city of Changsha launched the ‘New Channel’ initiative. This programme supports employment and skills development of indigenous groups in rural areas, allowing them develop traditional handicraft and local products in a sustainable, innovative way.
